DESCRIPTION:
Boston area box lyre wall clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement in a gilded mahogany case with painted metal dial and throat and lower reverse painted tablets, c1830
CONDITION:
the case has an old gold painted finish, nicely buffed to give an aged look. The tablets are repainted in the proper style. The movement is original to the case and is similar to those produced by Joshua Seward, Boston, Mass with split screw projecting through the back plate where it is pinned to hold movement in place.
